What the heck?

Things sure do change around Bloggerville when you have "gone missing" for a while. Trying to catch up on blogs I have followed. Many are dormant or non-existence, that's understandable, but on ones that are active and I follow- I can no longer leave comments???!!! Blogger keeps telling me I do not have access. I wonder what I am doing wrong.  I look on site followers and I am still there....I guess I am losing my touch-LOL
Leaving comments is such fun and I love comments. Right now since I have night shifts with the GM there isn't a lot I can do without waking up the household!

Finding Comfort in Strange Places

Sometimes it's the little bright spots that can cheer you and give you comfort. I do not have time to do much tagging and follow my few groups I love so much, but I have subscribed to these newsletters/blogs. Of course, I need to include my all/old time favorite Wildcat's lair (gotta love those crazy cats and dragons!)

Somehow I find real comfort in some one's else's reality and fantasy. Right now, I don't have time to quilt (but I have pieces out to cut) I can't vacation in Martha's Vineyard (but I feel like I am there-Love Willard too~) and I must admit I want to jazz up Wildcat's Steampunk with some attitude (sorry Bill, you need more Steampunky decor!!! BUT I love the storyline) And ask Uncle Kerouac makes me laugh like crazy!

I also am abusing phone calls to a friend that doesn't need more stress, but Lordie, IT HELPS!

Thank you all- I will love you to the end and back!

Midnight Blue

Not a good night or pre-dawn. GM is really not doing well. This tag started out to be for a challenge and then I realized it was what we are going through.

Sundowner’s Syndrome
Sundowner’s Syndrome is the name given to an ailment that causes symptoms of confusion after “sundown.” These symptoms appear in people who suffer from Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of dementia. Not all patients who suffer from dementia or Alzheimer’s exhibit Sundowner’s symptoms, however. Conversely, some people exhibit symptoms of dementia all day which grow worse in the late afternoon and evening, while others may exhibit no symptoms at all until the sun goes down.

Opps, I'm back!

Gee, it's been almost two years since I have been here. What happened? LOL Long story on my part! I decided to try once again. Since I rejoined Facebook I have reconnected with a lot of friends, but I hate the format. I guess I am really getting old. Hello to those few that still have me listed as followers. Wildcat, I love you- you make me laugh! So perhaps I shall vent and rave a bit occasionally. Need to put it somewhere. Going to post addy on FB so perhaps this will be a way to update my life and threads of friendship.
Crazy Mad, but still Dannelle aka Mema

Another Month soon to be gone...

I do believe that blogger is having a wee bit of difficulty. Just my opinion.

As the fall curtain begins to come down (ha- it is 104 degrees here today) I am itching to find my fall decor box. So far I have only located a few Halloween boxes. Where are my Autumn tablecloths- My pumpkins, my flags?

I do not want to move again, ever, if I can help it!

September has been a month of heat, crankiness and frustrations. The only highlight is Sunday at my daughter's house. We take turns with dinner and menu planning. Alas, tomorrow's shark came in as fillet Mignon (too expensive, and to rich for heat). Therefore it shall be ribs which are on sale. Four slabs should do nicely! Yesterday I roasted a chicken in the crockpot- it was great. So much cooler and less fuss than oven or BBQ. It was rubbed with spices, stuffed with lemon wedges and put on a bed of chopped onions, no water or liquid. The chicken basted itself and literally fell off the bone. I am doing a plain one today for the GM. But SHE will have to bone it and do what she wants with it. I can only be so good. Besides she wants to save (?) the bones for???

I am so proud of our President. He is a real person, a strong person, not to mention vocal and visible. I do worry about the anxiety of the Iran situation. No more war, Healthcare please! October 1st should be interesting.

“Iran is on notice,” says Obama. “When we meet with them on October 1st, they will have to come clean and make a choice: Are they willing to go down the path of giving up nuclear weapons and deciding to abide by international rules in pursuit of peaceful nuclear energy? Or, will they continue down a path that leads to confrontation? What has changed is that the international community has spoken. Now it’s up to Iran to respond. I’m not going to speculate on the course of action that we will take. I will give October 1st a chance.”

Some idiots are planning protests already. That's right, it is their right, but wouldn't it be nice to show some support and solidarity for our leader? Showing the world we are discontent and divided becomes a international joke. The United States of America is not a joke, should never be a laughing stock for the world.

So there, I've said my piece.

Love ya' all-

Pre-Autumn Ramblings

Well, Labor day has come and gone. White pumps and summer whites are packed away- Wait this is friggin' Southern California! It's hot, they're still wearable until the weather changes- Please, Dear Creator, make it change! We had about three days of "cooler" weather, only in the nineties- (ah, but the evenings were delicious!).today it's back to the Humid Hundreds.
Tuesday night I saw a shooting star. I haven't seen one in ages, but then again I haven't looked. I made my wish and hope it will come true. can't tell - yet.
I am trying to stay cool in light of the political upheaval. Kids staying in school and health reform. Gee, such nasty ideas. I can see why the "repubics" have to rant and rave. What is this country coming to? Next we might bring our soldiers home. Bad - Bad.
(please tell me you realize I am being facetious!)
This late in the summer (it is still summer) my first tomatoes are doing well. I didn't get the itsy bitsy plant starters until mid-July. I have two whole cucumbers! Next year- WATCH OUT farmer's market!
I finally found my camera so perhaps in the wee morning hours I shall take a few snaps. The weeds are doing well- Advice to those who move in summer- don't bother trying to clean a crabgrass infested yard until is is cooler!
I have been reading blogs daily but do not always reply because of time restraints. Beth, Ken, DB, Miss G, Sheria, and dear Miss A- LOVE YOU and thanks for some great links to others. There are more but you all are like family to me!
