Weekly Calendar

Pickles
July is National Pickle Month Pickles

July 27: National Take Your Plants for a Walk Day
(got up extra early to do this!)

July 28: Beatrix Potter was born on this day in 1866.
(Peter Rabbit should be so proud)

July 29: National Lasagna Day. Also, St. Martha's Day. She is the patron saint of housewives. It's said that she once took time out of her sweeping to put out a dragon's fire with holy water. (Warning: do not try this at home.)
(Sounds like more fun that sweeping)

August 1: Today is the ancient Celtic festival of Lugnasadh (pronounced loo-na-sa), anglicized as "Lammas."

(prefer my Lammas with one m-Lorenzo Lamas)

Going up the Stairway

Wish I knew where the stairs lead...I feel like I am on a journey to nowhere. It has been so hot and humid it isn't fun to do much after 10 in the morning.

The Grandmary actually joined us for dinner last night and said it was delicious! Imagine that!

I am so not used to having this terrible bitterness in me. I have always let it go and forgive and forget. She is like the thorns in my rose bushes- Every time I try to take care of my roses I come away bleeding.

The slowness of getting things in order is affecting my ability to care if it ever happens and yet I want my life back with all it's trimmings! I gave away or dumped so much that connected to memories or happiness thoughts that I need what is left around me to enjoy!

Enough sorrow and pain

wish it would rain

wash away the bitter grime

take me to a better time

up the stairway!

Gift Giving

I am trying to understand the meaning of this quotation...Friendship is a two way street, at least I think so. I can accept the gift or reject it but how can I possibly give it to myself? I like me, most of the time, anyway. Therefore, I can be my own friend, but I think I would get tired of always talking to myself.
Are you tired of those sissy 'friendship' poems that always sound good, But never actually come close to reality?Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship.
.1. When you are sad -- I will jump on the person who made you sad like a spider monkey.
2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you..
3. When you smile -- I will know you are plotting something that I must be involved in.
4. When you are scared -- I will rag on you about it every chance I get.
5. When you are worried -- I will tell you horrible stories about how much Worse it could be until you quit whining.
6. When you are confused -- I will use little words.
7. When you are sick -- Stay away from me until you are well Again. I don't want whatever you have.
8. When you fall -- I will point and laugh at your clumsiness....
9. This is my oath.... I pledge it to the end.
'Why?' you may ask; 'because you are my friend'.
Friendship is like peeing your pants, everyone can see it, But only you can feel the true warmth.
Send this to your closest friends, Then get depressed because you can only think of a few.

Happily we Should Live!

This was the prayer of the day (yes, I do subscribe, but I am picky)

for those of you that enjoy the pleasures of the flesh, ignore the one about yearning!

the rest is pretty much correct- comprende?

Let Us Live Happily
Let us live happily, without hate amongst those who hate.

Let us dwell unhating amidst hateful men.

Let us live happily, in good health amongst those who are sick.

Let us dwell in good health amidst ailing men.

Let us live happily, without yearning for sensual pleasures amongst those who yearn for them.

Let us dwell without yearning amidst those who yearn.Let us live happily, we who have no impediments.

We shall subsist on joy even as the radiant gods.

A Concert

Last Night We when to a concert, here in "Lake Elsinore" OMgoodnessgracious strange place for a venue of celebs! At my age, I think is it so sad to see former stars twinkle in sad places. The Jam 80's concert featured Martha Davis and the Motels

This was the 7 Pm opener- Should have been pushed up several notches because they were ok!

Next was "Gene loves Jezebel" Now here I never (although some people obviously did) heard of them. Googled and was amazed at their history and continued saga- US vs UK - brother against brother. They, he, whatever sucked, But he did wear a really cute coat!

I believe this is Michael- the twin with the US name- as opposed to his brother Jay, who owns the UK name...whatever

Next up- the forever popular? A Flock of Seagulls- and may a bird of Paradise fly up your Nose- Who thinks loud equates to wonderful? It might have been better had not the bass overshadowed every vocal- Sad Sad

The Headliner was Berlin- Terri Nunn(like Martha) still looks rockin, smokin good (not in the actual smoking not good for you sense) The sound was way too loud but real performers shine regardless and they came across nicely!

In August, the Summer concert features- Now dig this my lovelies-

Willie Nelson,

John Mellecamp and

Bob Dylan!

I may just have to pay premium to sit up front

The New Me

Hello world, this is me...formerly known as, well if I deleted the former I do not want to be connected to it! Unfortunately I loved it, loved them, the original from AOL brought over and the new one., at blogger. I had friends. I loved them - sometimes they loved me. BUT there was a problem, an itsy bitsy problem of people who I did not want to read my thoughts, I need to be able to do this without recrimination or guilt... perhaps I can renew my friends or gather new ones or both!
It will take time, effort and love to rebuild what I had loved and start again, anyone who cares, let me know, or not
